Paints
today are manufactured with very high standards and
quality controls that provide great colors,
performance, and cost-effectiveness. It’s easy to
get confused in the store because there are so many
different brands to chose from, each with a variety
of additives and enhancers. But in reality, there
are only three different grades of interior paint:
low grade (often referred to as professional-grade
or architectural-grade paint, used mainly in offices
or apartments where frequent repainting is standard
maintenance), medium grade (also called decorator
grade, a good choice for low-traffic rooms where
thee is little wear and tear), and high grade paint
(a coat that once dry has a film that is 50% thicker
than that of a low-cost paint; the result is a
tougher, more durable finish that resist fading).
The best paint balances price and
performance, and it should suit the project.
